​Ellise M. Washington is the Founder and Principal Attorney of EMW LAW, a forward-thinking law firm committed to delivering smart, innovative, and client-centered legal solutions. A proud native of Fairfield and Birmingham, Alabama, Attorney Washington’s educational journey reflects her deep roots in the community. She is a graduate of Fairfield High Preparatory School, Birmingham-Southern College, and Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law.

A results-driven advocate, Attorney Washington has successfully resolved a significant number of cases through skilled negotiation, strategic litigation, and a steadfast dedication to her clients. Her accomplishments have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, a Birmingham Top Attorney by Birmingham Magazine, and a Super Lawyers Rising Star. She is also the inaugural recipient of the prestigious White & Case LLP Circle of Excellence Award, which honors exceptional young attorneys within the National Bar Association.

In addition to leading EMW LAW, Attorney Washington is the Founder and Owner of Elitely Efficient Consulting, a systems-focused consulting and innovation firm that supports lawyers, law firms, and professional service providers. Through Elitely Efficient, she provides strategic guidance on operational workflows, automation, training, templates, and AI-powered solutions designed to enhance efficiency, scalability, and long-term sustainability. This work reflects her passion for helping professionals build businesses that are both effective and aligned with excellence.

Attorney Washington is also a respected leader in the legal and broader community. She is actively involved in organizations such as the American Bar Association and the National Bar Association. Her commitment to service includes participation in pro bono law clinics and nonprofit leadership, including service on the YWCA Junior Board. She is equally dedicated to developing the next generation of legal professionals as an Instructor at Jefferson State Community College, where she teaches in the Paralegal Certificate program.
